Living Powerful Moments
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self discipline.: 2 Timothy 1:7
I recently read an article about the power of God in us and how, most often, Christians do not draw upon that power. We have the heart of the one and only true God. Sherry Evans from Covenant Church in Ohio writes, "Have we forgotten how truly awesome, powerful, and transcendent our God is? Have we forgotten that He cast Satan out of heaven with one word?

“What would it look like to walk through your day in confidence?”
Have we forgotten that He who is in us is far, far greater than he that is in the world? And have we forgotten that God has given us authority to trample on snakes and scorpions? Have we never wondered why Jesus didn't tell us to fear those who were involved with witchcraft? Have we failed to take seriously the authority that Jesus gave us to heal the sick and cast out demons? Are we mentally placing the power of Satan higher than our God?" This certainly does not sound like timidity. But, I also know that Jesus was the perfect balance of love and authority. He has given us the same love and authority, even though we most often get the balance way off.
What would it look like to walk through your day in confidence - knowing the Lord has gone before you -, in courage - the ability to trust in what His plans are for you in every moment -, with the authority to call on God's power in our lives, loving everyone, and keeping it all in balance? I feel like my day would be a disaster from the get-go. Tired and cranky, in pain from the moment I'm up, selfish instead of self-disciplined. But the beauty is that every moment is new. Every moment is restored. Every moment I can start over. Every moment I can call on His power to move me to the next moment. And that's how it works. In His power and authority, we are given a spirit of power, love and self-discipline. Let's walk through today in these moments.
