Gifts of Christmas: Gift No. 10 ~ Acceptance

My gift to you is: Acceptance

From Luke 1:9 - According to the custom of the priestly office, he was chosen by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense.

I have chosen you. Mary and Joseph did not know what would transpire for them and yet the story unfolded right on time, according to my plan, because I had chosen them. What makes following me different from other religions of man is this; following me is a gift life. My best things are gifted to you simply because you are loved, you are chosen, and you have accepted my invitation.

Zacharias was serving in the temple and then he was chosen, accidentally it would seem, by the casting of lots, to go into the Holy of Holies and encounter the angel. My child, he was no more chosen than you are. While you were yet a sinner, before you even understood the gift of God, I died for you. While you were yet clueless, the Holy Spirit began to lead you into my presence because I have chosen you and what I have chosen cannot be stolen.

Zacharias and Elizabeth, who birthed John the forerunner of the Messiah, could not see they would become my followers through their relationship with their own son. Just the same, even though you may not be able to see it right now, you are walking in great divine favor, into a story of providence where you are highly favored. You have been chosen. You are on God’s path and nothing can stop my story from continuing to unfold in your life. You are much loved and highly favored because I have chosen you.

What divine encounter led you to accept Jesus showing God’s providential favor over you?
