Purpose and Applicability
This policy establishes the authority of the University of Maryland Global Campus (Íøºì±¬ÁÏ) Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) or designee to reassign or modify the duties, responsibilities and/or reporting relationships of Exempt and Overseas Staff employees on Regular Status at any time.
Definition
Reassignment: The movement of an employee from a position to another similar or comparable position. Reassignment shall be made with consideration of the employee's knowledge, skills, abilities, and salary.
General
Based on operational needs and/or organizational necessity, the CHRO or designee may modify the duties, responsibilities, and/or reporting relationships of an employee's position at any time.
The CHRO or designee shall provide an employee with written notice of reassignment prior to the effective date of the action. A change in work schedule or location shall require a minimum of two weeks' notice.
Employees may schedule a meeting with their new supervisor to discuss new assignment duties and responsibilities.
Failure to report to the reassigned position shall be considered an immediate voluntary resignation.
The Íøºì±¬ÁÏ President has designated the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to administer this policy; to develop procedures as necessary to implement this policy; to communicate this policy to the Íøºì±¬ÁÏ community; and to post the policy and any applicable procedures on the Íøºì±¬ÁÏ website.
